The Ford Motor Company is an American main-stream automaker. It was founded by Henry Ford in 1903. They produce and import small, medium and large passenger vehicles, as well as four-wheel drive and commercial automobiles.
The company introduced large-scale manufacturing using assembly lines in the 1900s and now have manufacturing plants worldwide. They are the third largest manufacturer in Australia. They also import vehicles to Australia, such as the Fiesta, Focus, Mondeo, Ford Kuga and Ranger. In Australia, popular models have been the family-focused Ford Falcon, the Commodore and the Laser.
They are also involved in stock car racing in the form of NASCAR, Formula One and Rally. The Ford Mustang has been their most successful sports car.
