Fitted onto a 2022 Tesla Model Y RWD, these Michelin Scorpion MS replaced the original OEM Hankook Evo S3 which had foam inserts on the insides of the wheels. Granted, I opted for a higher profile set: 255/50 R19 for the Scorpions, vs the 255/45 R19 for the Evo S3s. This increase in profile gave the vehicle a 1.5cm overall boost in sidewall height and clears most kerbs better than the Evos. Note too, that because of this larger circumference, the vehicle's speedo needs to be calibrated by about 1-2km/h LESS. How do the Michelins fared??? FANTASTIC!! The Scorpions are quiet (as quiet if not quieter than the Evo S3), robustly built, and with great siping that allows for greater traction both in wet and dry roads. In my daily travels, I would now and again find the rear wheels slipping in the rain especially during turns or at roundabouts while on the Evos, but these Scorpions are alot more firm in their traction and directional control. I have not had them slipped once even when pushed hard. Sound-wise, I was a little reticent about whether it could beat the foam-filled Hankooks, but ironically, I am hard-pressed to think that the Evos were quieter than these Scorpions. Looks?? Overall, I love the general look of the Scorpions over that of the Evos, which was a little complicated on the sidewall. The Scorpions present with a cleaner overall look and goes excellently with the matte PPF black of my Model Y. Conclusion: I purchased four of the Scorpion MS 255/50R19 from Tyresales.com.au on offer - buy 4 pay for 3, with free fitting and delivery. They replaced the Hankook Evo S3 255/45R19 set which was sadly, a magnet for punctures and erroneous penetrations (the reason why they were retired at 40k kms, prematurely). Pricing for the Scorpions easily beat the Hankooks by a large margin - Almost a thousand dollars! And performance and functionality-wise, I'd say is equal to, if not better than the Evo3s. Would I do order them again? For now, I'd say YES!! But give me another 2-3 years and hopefully 40-60k kms ahead and we'll see whats in the market then!! Thanks for reading my review!
