CONTINENTAL 235/55R17 Tyre Prices

Never had any “moments” with these tyres. Very confidence inspiring, quiet and long lasting.

Good tyre, for grip in wet and dry and handles the vagaries of my SWAS [station wagon on steroids] handling satisfactorily. For the metro roads and good quality country highways and freeways. Not so good for rough gravel and potholed roads. sidewalls too 'thin'.

These tyres aren't the cheapest on the market but when it comes to grip in either wet or dry these tyres are the best. Another thing I've noticed is how little road noise these tyres make. Much better than my last set of Bridgestone tyres. Ive had Continental tyres on a couple of vans now and won't be fitting anything else.

I couldn,t have been more happier with the Tyre's and especially the service i was looking at another brand and when i spoke with the Tyre specialist he recommended the Continental,s would be a far better Tyre for our VW Tiguan what a great choice Thank-you very much . Very happy with these tyres, arrived promptly and fitted in very short amount of time. Noticed the difference as soon as we drove off.

The tyres were competitively priced and I was happy with the service from TyreSales. I opted to have them fitted by Total Nissan (Albany highway) and their service was very poor. I was told that the fitting would take an hour and I could wait for the service and collect the vehicle. Upon presenting at the dealership, I was told they needed to keep my vehicle for most of the day. Tyre fitting is not a priority for them and I was treated as a second class citizen. I paid for a full wheel alignment and was given a report showing some parameters out of tolerance (the report had the wrong date) - when I enquired about this, they couldn't be bothered to explain why. TyreSales needs to do more to ensure a proper standard for the fitment of tyres !!

Road handling is superb, even more than I anticipated. However, fuel consumption went up for the first few thousand Kms by 1.5 to 2 litres / hundred Kms. It has settled down now to about 1 litre / 100 Kms more than my previous ContiContact tyres, which were a slightly different size and the more 'commuter' orientated compound. Overall I opine these tyres are going to cost me $500 - $1200 more in fuel consumption over their anticipated 50K lifetime. The price one pays for brilliant roadholding. Better than paying for car damage as the previous tyres could be made to slide when I pushed. And that's on a Renault Koleos, not a Megane.
