Very slow delivery, won't use again

Potenza S005 have been extremely hard to come by in Australia for approximately a year now and have only become available very recently. Even the local Bridgestone dealer thought it was a discontinued model due to lack of availability. A unique feature of this tyre is the super wide rim protection (as seen on the 225/40/18, not sure if this is applicable for the other size tyres though). It is MUCH MUCH wider than the typical rim protection offered on Bridgestone's other tyres (e.g. Adrenalin RE003, Potenza S001) and competing brands such as Continental (eg. Sport Contact), Michelin (eg. Pilot Sport 4 and 5) et al. Apparently, it's the OEM tyre for the Golf Mk 8 - so VW may have had some input into the design and features. Excellent protection against gutter rash on rims obviously. Too early to gauge tyre wear (1200 kms) but since it's a Treadwear 240 I'm not expecting much, on the flip side the grip and handling is very good. Hardly any wheelspin from a standing stop in the rain (VW Golf). Rides OK and noise is reasonable. Highly recommended and I'll continue to purchase this tyre model as long as it's manufactured.

This is the second set of these tyres on our Mazda6. Same excellent quality and we're very happy with them.

Looks to be decent set of tires. Will know better after running a few Ks with it.

Happy with these tyres-they are good quality and I drive a lot on country roads so this is important. Car handles a lot better and no longer screeches going around corners. I feel a lot safer driving now. I found the service by phone also friendly and knowledgeable, would definitely get new tyres for my car this way again!

good value performance tyre

Had these tyres for 5.5 years and 55,000 kms on a Honda Accord Euro CL9 225/45r17 wheels doing regular suburban driving and the occasional long weekend road trips interstate. Rotations, balancing and alingment were done every 10k kms. The tyres started to go bald at 45000kms, with improving dry grip. For a low horsepower/low torque car the tyres are very stable, good wet and dry grip - didnt slip or hydroplane, good cornering stability, decently quiet and good at absorbing road bumps and imperfections. I would have preferred if they lasted 65000km, but I'm not fussed as they did give me 5.5years out of them.
