BRIDGESTONE 225/40R18 Tyre Prices

Potenza S005 have been extremely hard to come by in Australia for approximately a year now and have only become available very recently. Even the local Bridgestone dealer thought it was a discontinued model due to lack of availability. A unique feature of this tyre is the super wide rim protection (as seen on the 225/40/18, not sure if this is applicable for the other size tyres though). It is MUCH MUCH wider than the typical rim protection offered on Bridgestone's other tyres (e.g. Adrenalin RE003, Potenza S001) and competing brands such as Continental (eg. Sport Contact), Michelin (eg. Pilot Sport 4 and 5) et al. Apparently, it's the OEM tyre for the Golf Mk 8 - so VW may have had some input into the design and features. Excellent protection against gutter rash on rims obviously. Too early to gauge tyre wear (1200 kms) but since it's a Treadwear 240 I'm not expecting much, on the flip side the grip and handling is very good. Hardly any wheelspin from a standing stop in the rain (VW Golf). Rides OK and noise is reasonable. Highly recommended and I'll continue to purchase this tyre model as long as it's manufactured.

These tires are taking a beating the rear tires on my car rub really bad and they're holding up insanely we'll haven't had the chance to get my fenders rolled or go to the track yet so Idk what they're like at the limit but so far so good they're heaps louder then what I had but It didn't take long to get used to.

Well, they are showing good results for now but it’s the third different brand m buying from tyresales and seeing which goes a long way with quality, noise level and performance.

Good performance daily tyre, good grip and stability in the wet. Not a track tyre but much better than a typical "eco" tyre.

Have them on my GOLF R & handles very well in the dry & wet conditions...Further more they are super quite which is great in times that you want quietness.With these tyres especially front wheel drive i suggest you get a wheel alignment every 6 mths so you get a good even wear out of these tyres....Romeo

I am actually having trouble with one tyre registering that it is losing pressure constantly. Not a lot of air is escaping but enough to register on my l dial. A little frustrating.

These tyres can be costly compared to other brands. I purchased them again as they were original figment on my Lexus IS350. I got a good price at $240 for the fronts on Tyresales, compared to around $300 elsewhere. These tyres have very large rim protection strips which protect the alloy wheels from kerb rash. This is primarily why i purchased them again. I also got 40000km from the front tyres and will probably get 50000km from the rear. These are a great handling tyre in wet and dry
