The last set of Goodyear Assurance on my Mazda 6 were very good, they survived the potholes with no problems. My only very minor reservation was that the life was a bit short at 50,000k. Good price from Tyresales when I purchased the same again.

Daily highway travels have been a pleasure. Delivery was fast and fitting was straightforward.

I have traditionally paid a lot more for these tyres at retail outlets. They cost twice as much as the equivalent chinese made tyres on tyresales. Two years into my last sets lifespan, i had to replace two of the tyres due to unexpected damage. I replaced them with the chinese tyres at less than half the price. Two years later again, the chinese tyres had worn out and the Goodyear Eagle F1's were still going (but getting close the end). At a retail out, at twice the price they give twice the distance and you might be forgiven to go either way, however, If you can get them at a great deal on Tyre Sales (ie, 150% of the price of the cheaper chinese tyres) - then its absolute no-brainer, they will outlast the softer tyres everytime and still provide the same great traction wet or dry.

The tyres are hard ride but have good grip in wet weather and also daily driving. Last tyres of the same brand got 120,000 kms +.
